SEO Synchronizing

[mirrorpress_documentation_nav]

SirSync supports synchronizing SEO metadata created with Yoast SEO and All in One SEO (AIOSEO). This helps preserve page titles, descriptions, social sharing settings, and other supported optimization data when content is pushed or pulled between connected websites.

Supported SEO Plugins

  • Yoast SEO
  • All in One SEO (AIOSEO)

The corresponding SEO plugin should be installed and active on both websites. SirSync synchronizes supported metadata between matching SEO plugins; it does not convert Yoast SEO settings into All in One SEO settings or the reverse.

What Gets Synchronized

Depending on the SEO plugin and the settings configured for the content, supported metadata can include:

  • SEO titles
  • Meta descriptions
  • Focus keyphrases
  • Canonical URLs
  • Robots index and follow settings
  • Open Graph titles and descriptions
  • Facebook sharing images
  • Twitter titles and descriptions
  • Twitter sharing images
  • Supported schema and content-level SEO settings

When an SEO field references an image from the WordPress Media Library, SirSync transfers or matches the image and updates the field to use the corresponding image on the receiving website.

Enable SEO Metadata Synchronization

SEO metadata is controlled by the Sync SEO meta deployment setting. Enable this option for the applicable content type before synchronizing content.

When enabled, SirSync includes supported Yoast SEO or All in One SEO metadata with the deployment. When disabled, the receiving content retains its existing SEO metadata.

Yoast SEO

SirSync recognizes supported metadata stored by Yoast SEO and includes it when the content is synchronized. This allows the receiving page, post, product, or supported custom post type to retain its configured search and social appearance settings.

Yoast SEO must be installed on the receiving website for the synchronized metadata to be available through the Yoast interface and used on the front end.

All in One SEO

SirSync recognizes supported metadata stored by All in One SEO, including content-level search appearance and social sharing settings.

When Facebook or Twitter sharing images are configured through AIOSEO, SirSync processes the supported image settings and updates them to reference the corresponding media on the receiving website.

All in One SEO must be installed on the receiving website for the synchronized metadata to be available through the AIOSEO interface and used on the front end.

Internal and Canonical URLs

SEO fields may contain URLs from the source website. SirSync updates supported internal references when a corresponding destination URL is available.

After synchronization, review canonical URLs and other manually entered SEO URLs to confirm that they point to the intended website. External URLs are preserved and are not changed simply because the content was synchronized.

Sitewide SEO Settings

SirSync synchronizes supported SEO metadata attached to individual content items. It does not synchronize the SEO plugin’s complete sitewide configuration.

Settings that should be configured separately on each website can include:

  • Site identity and organization information
  • Search appearance templates
  • Content-type defaults
  • XML sitemap settings
  • Webmaster verification codes
  • Analytics and third-party integrations
  • Redirects
  • Plugin licensing and account connections

This allows each connected website to retain its own domain-level SEO configuration while sharing supported metadata for synchronized content.
